Jumping

We understand people enjoy and look forward to jump lessons. However we do insist that riders alternate flat and jump lessons. Groups will do their best to alternate flat and jump, however when horses are off work or during extra busy periods groups may have to flat twice between jump lessons.

 

Instructors

Bookings can be made with certain instructors, however Silvermere equestrian center reserve the right to alter the  booking to another instructor when needed. Clients will receive a notification of this from the booking system, and clients may contact us by email if they wish to alter the booking.

 

Photography

Parents/ friends are welcome to video/ photograph the rider they are accompanying, however permission must be sought form the instructor and the rest of the group if others could appear in the footage.

There is CCTV in operation at the yard for everyone safety.

 

Social Media

No images are allowed to be shared online of silvermere equestrian center without permission being sought first.

 

Complaints

A full complaints procedure is in the reception for clients to view. Please address any complaints by email. We will reply within 48 hours to the initial complaint.

Refunds 

If you need to change your lesson time, you are able to cancel and rebook on the booking system. As long as its more than 24hours before the lesson, your credit will stay on the booking system for you to use another time. If it is less than 48hours you will not be refunded.

 

In some limited circumstances we are able to offer a refund in respect of credit held on your account. If you wish for a refund please email us and we will see if it is possible. Please be aware that we will charge a 10% admin fee, anything over 1 year old will not be refunded. 

 

For Clients with credit and tokens, these are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. These are not able to be used after the 12 months, and no refund can be given.

 

 

Safeguarding

Silvermere Equestrian Center fully accepts its legal and moral obligation under the children’s act (1989) and (2004) to provide a duty of care to protect all children and safeguard their welfare, irrespective of age, ability or disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation and socio-economic background.

The aims of our safeguarding policy are:

·        To ensure robust safeguarding arrangements and procedures are in operation to provide children and young people with appropriate safety and protection whilst at silvermere, allowing them to participate in a fun, safe environment and in an atmosphere of fair play.

·        To Take all responsible, practical steps to protect children and young people from harm, discrimination and degrading treatment and respect their rights, wishes and feelings.

·        To ensure everyone understands their roles and responsibilities in respect of safeguarding and are provided with appropriate learning opportunities ro recognize, identify and respond to signs of abuse, neglect and other safeguarding concerns relating to children and young people.

·        To ensure appropriate action is taken in the event of incidents/ concerns of abuse and support provided to the individual/s who raise or disclose the concern. All concerns or allegations of poor practice or abuse are taken seriously and responded to swiftly and appropriately.

·        To ensure that confidential, detailed and accurate records of all safeguarding concerns are maintained and securely stored.

·        To maintain high standards of behaviors and good practice through compliance with the BHS coach code of conduct and the BHS codes of conduct for parent/ guardians, junior members and volunteers.

 

All instructors are trained in safeguarding. The safeguarding officer is Beth Bradbury. All instructors are DBS checked and this is renewed every 3 years.

 

Code of conduct for spectators

·        Treat officials and staff members with respect, however much you disagree with their decision

  • Behave responsibility and speak out if something isn’t right
  • Encourage all riders and applaud their efforts
  • Treat competitors, other spectators and event staff with respect and appreciate their level of skill and talent
  • Respect and celebrate difference and do not discriminate against anyone else on the grounds of gender, race, sexual orientation or ability
  • Only enter the riding area or arena during a lesson or competition unless asked to do so by the Instructor or Organiser

 

We expect all those attending our event/activity to follow the behaviours and requests of this code. If someone contradicts any of the points above, we will address the problem straight away and aim to resolve the issue.

Continued issues may result in us regrettably asking you to leave the event or activity permanently.

 

 

Code of conduct for parents and carers

The essentials

·        Make sure your child has the correct clothes for the session and weather, as well as enough food and drink

·        Try to make sure your child arrives to the sessions on time and is picked up promptly, if you are running late please let a member of staff know or if your child is going home with someone else

·        Complete all consent, contact and medical forms and update us straight away if there are any changes

·        Make sure your child wears any protective kit we provide them with

·        Maintain a good relationship with your child’s coach/trainer and keep up to date with your child’s progress

·        Talk to us if you have any concerns

Behaviour

·        Try to learn about your child’s sport and what it means to them

·        Take the time to talk to your child about what you both want out of the sport

·        Remember that children gain a wide range of benefits from sport, like making friends, getting exercise and developing skills

·        Listen when your child says they do not want to do something

·        Behave positively when watching your child, offer encouragement

·        The way you react can affect not only your child but others too

·        Lead by example when it comes to behaviour

·        Use social media responsibly

·        Encourage your child to abide by the rules

·        Ensure that your child understands the code of conduct

As a parent/carer, we understand you have the right to:

·        Be assured that your child is safeguarded during their time with us

·        See any of our policies and procedures at any time

·        Know who the safeguarding officer is and have their contact details

·        Know what training and qualifications our staff have

·        Be informed of any problems or concerns relating to your child

·        Know what happens if there is an accident or injury

·        Have your consent sought for anything outside of our initial consent, such as trips or photography

 

 

Code of conduct for young people

The essentials

·        Keep yourself safe by listening to your coach or instructor, behave responsibly and speak out when something isn’t right

·        When you’re with us, stay in the places where you’re supposed to, don’t wander off or leave without telling a member of staff

·        Take care of our equipment and premises as if they were your own

·        Arrive on time or if you are running late, let a member of staff know

·        Wear the appropriate clothing for the activity and weather

·        Do not smoke or consume alcohol on the premises or during the activities

Behaviour

·        Respect and celebrate difference in our centre/club and not discriminate against anyone else on the grounds of gender, race, sexual orientation or ability

·        Report any incidents of bullying, including homophobia and transphobia to a member of staff, even if you’re just a witness

·        Treat other young people with respect and appreciate that everyone has different levels of skill and talent

·        Make our club/centre a welcoming and friendly place to be

·        Support and encourage each other

·        Respect our staff, and the staff and members from other clubs/centres

·        Abide by the rules and have fun

·        Follow our E-safety policies

As a young person taking part, we understand you have the right to:
